It’s never easy to say good-bye but 2015 marked that milestone for Paul Allen. Paul served 21 years on the Giles County Soil Conservation District Board. He served several years as Chairman and held an appointed position for most of his years of service. He also served as the Tennessee Association of Conservation District (TACD) Area Director for Area V which covers Bedford, Coffee, Franklin, Giles, Hickman, Lawrence, Lewis, Lincoln, Marshall, Maury, Moore, Perry and Wayne Counties. Paul moved from that position into the Division Vice-President position that covers all of Middle Tennessee. Paul and his family reside in the Elkton Community of Giles County and is a full time farmer raising corn, soybeans and wheat on a rotating basis. He is a true conservation farmer and utilizes no-till, soil health cover crops, filter strips, waterways and wildlife management practices on his farms. Paul currently serves on the Giles County Economic Development Commission Board, Giles County School Board and the Giles County Regional Development Board.

The March board meeting and breakfast was hosted by fellow board member Wade Edde.  The SCD board members, SCD staff and NRCS District Conservationist Rusty Walker, presented Paul with a gift of appreciation.
